Constraining 3D geometric gravity inversion with a 2D reflection seismic profile using a generalized level set approach: application to the eastern Yilgarn Craton

Abstract. One of the main tasks in 3D geological modeling is boundary parametrization subsurface from observations and geophysical inversions. Several approaches have been developed for geometric inversion joint datasets. However, robust, quantitative integration models datasets with different spatial coverage, resolution, levels sparsity remains challenging. promising approach recovering units utilization a level set method potential field data. We focus on constraining gravity sparse lower-uncertainty information 2D seismic section. use to recover geometry bodies using two synthetic examples data geologically complex Yamarna Terrane (Yilgarn Craton, Western Australia). In this study, section has used location rock unit boundaries being solved during inversion. The proposed work first we know that automates process adding spatially distributed constraints many hard-rock geoscientific investigations, are sparse, our results indicate can be much better constrained even though they sparsely within model. Thus, conclude it bring state art step further towards building model incorporating several sources similar regions investigation.
